As reported by the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA), Operation Safe Driver Week begins on Sunday, July 14 and will last until July 20.
Operation Safe Driver Week
Law enforcement agencies across the United States will be paying close attention to commercial and passenger vehicle drivers during this week. A special focus this year will focus on speeding. Drivers partaking in unsafe driving behaviors will be pulled over by law enforcement and may be issued a warning and/or citation. This is part of CVSA’s Operation Safe Driver initiative, which is sponsored by CVSA in partnership with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Truck drivers should be extra diligent behind the wheel since the likelihood of being pulled over by law enforcement is higher than usual. As reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2015 drivers’ actions contributed to an astonishing 94% of all traffic crashes.
According to the CVSA, large truck and bus crashes account for nearly 4,000 deaths and 100,000 injuries annually.
Operation Safe Driver began in 2007 to help improve the behavior of all drivers who share the road with commercial vehicles by addressing high-risk behaviors through education and enforcement strategies.
Using Invoice Factoring for Trucking
Factoring invoices is a flexible option for many business owners. Transportation factoring gives truckers fast cash to pay for fuel, cover payroll, and fund any on-the-road expenses.
